About Our Tree Service in Gainesville, FL
A Gainesville tree service with a simple rule: understand the tree before you cut it.
Where the name comes from
A lumberjack cuts trees. An educated one knows which trees should be cut, how a given species tends to fail, and where every piece is going to land before the first cut is made. That is the whole idea behind Educated Lumberjack, a tree service based in north Gainesville.
In practice it means looking hard at a tree before quoting it. A laurel oak with a hollow trunk is a different job from a healthy live oak with one heavy limb over the roof, even if both owners call asking for "tree removal." Sometimes the honest answer is a trim, and sometimes it is the whole tree.
Who runs it
Educated Lumberjack is run by Kiva. Customers know the company by that name, and the one Google review on our profile says it better than we could:
“I Recommend Kiva for your tree work needs. He runs a good company and has proper insurance for tree removals!”
How every job runs
- Walk the tree: species, lean, dead limbs, decay, and what it could hit.
- Plan the drop: where each piece lands and what needs protecting.
- Climb, rig and cut in the order the plan calls for.
- Grind the stump below the grass line when it is part of the job.
- Clean up the brush and chips and rake the yard.
